If you are looking for a detailed review of Everglades National Park, this is the wrong place. I’ve lived in Florida for many years and I’ve seen alligators, marshes, and swamps many times before.
My primary purpose for our visit over the Thanksgiving holiday was to grab the stamp for our national parks passport books. We had just visited Dry Tortugas National Park (highly recommended) and this one was within 30 minutes of our path home. Get dat stamp!
GETTING THERE: Easy peasy. Once you are in Homestead Florida, plot a course for the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center. As you travel down the small back roads, there will be the familiar brown national park signs to guide to the right location. It is flat and paved the entire way.
STAMP LOCATION: As you go in the main entrance, ahead and to your left will be an information desk. On the right hand side of that desk is the cancellation station (I forgot to grab a picture). Simple.
will make sure I visit next time, I have just been to Everglades, missed my chance!
